That's why SVG took the cartography world by storm. It is *so* much easier to 
use than any previously existing technology that dozens of carto projects saw 
the light of day immediately, many of them succesful.

Yes, but Flash is very painful to generate, and its drawing API is nowhere near 
what can be done with SVG's DOM.
