But quite honestly, many of us are not W3C members [we don't have 50K to
pony up for membership], and non-members are clearly not as welcome to
participate in W3C processes [You can argue against this statement all you
want, I know it for truth, having been on both sides of that coin.  Also,
note that I said "as welcome", so as to not imply that we are unwelcome,
just that we aren't as easily invited in...].

At least what we discuss here gets feedback, the same cannot necessarily be
said of those publicly available W3C mailing lists.  The same cannot be said
for member-only lists, where there is often plenty of feedback and
discussion.  I also know how difficult it is to get feedback even directly
communicating with WG members.  Many are volunteers from sponsoring
organizations, and don't have enough time to respond to individual comments
made, especially by non-WG folks.

Also, there are folks here who are WG members, and who do listen.  So the
railing is not totally useless.  I've seen many cases in the last two months
where a good point was made, and eventually acknowledges and forwarded on to
the appropriate WG.

I just wish that the discussion was a little more professional.  There are
some days when I want to reach out and slap the collective lot of posters
who repeatedly act like children.  There are polite and impolite ways to
argue and disagree, and I wish that we could all take the former path.
