Your SGML DTD also allows no content, as #PCDATA is defined as zero or more characters. For that reason, SGML DTD developers more often use "*" instead of "+" for a mixed content content model, even though they are functionally equivalent. It's thought to be more descriptive - a reminder that <bio></bio> is a legal occurrence of a bio element. -- Regards, Marcus Carr email: mcarr@a... ___________________________________________________________________ Allette Systems (Australia) www: http://www.allette.com.au ___________________________________________________________________ "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." - Einstein
