The basic premise is tag soup: writing a bunch of tags directly into what is supposed to be a structured object. Anyone who thinks Inner/OuterXml is "useful" hasn't shaken off a mentality that is ultimately hostile to XML use. Which means that, as usual: Tag Soup Is Alive And Well. -sigh-
