XSLT has it's own shortcomings, especially if you try to use it as a procedural language substitute, but the paradigm of writing XML processing logic _in XML_ is, in my opinion, very powerful indeed. I believe the same approach could be used to create an object-oriented procedural language, which (as by chance..) is what i've been busying myself with lately. If you're interested, the work i've done so far on creating a spec and compiler/interpertor can be seen here ->> http://www.o-xml.org early days still, but my feeling is there's huge potential in this field for all types of XML development. just me tuppence worth, regards, Martin Klang Alpha Plus Technology Ltd
