contribute to the discussions and his presence at the
conference in Vancouver galvanized a lot of support. It was obvious
that
MS had come to be the white knight of the SGML community.
Sure
they had motives and agendas. We all did and do. The main
thing
was that once there, they stayed the course and continue
to be
a good citizen in the sense that once a spec gets some
traction, they do implement it. Actually, the
hardest thing
about
dealing with their framework is the almost bewildering number
of
ways there are to get similar things done. They make no
apologies for being client and middleware focused with a relational
backend. Given the current market, it makes
sense.
The
ObjectSpaces thing looks awfully intrigueing.
