I don't understand either analogy but I do sense that they involve real harm to someone. A 404 that lives for a few years *at best* causes confusion, not real harm. But anyhow, we are splitting hairs. The rule of thumb should be: "Use HTTP URIS for namespaces. Put documentation at the referents, even if only one sentence documentation." Where we disagree. I would say: "If, for some reason, you are too lazy to do that, use HTTP URIs nevertheless. You May change your mind about that laziness one day and it makes no sense to burn your bridges." -- "When I walk on the floor for the final execution, I'll wear a denim suit.
