Somewhere back in the archives is The TAO of XML thread. I and others said, the most important part of XML may not be its technical elegance, but the way it is applied. In essence, it enables all parties to think through the data and names. It doesn't force them to think through the semantics, but it enables them know when what they meant to say wasn't understood as long as they are validating IAW expectations. Other means will do that too. XML is the one the most people have agreed to use in the most places. len -----Original Message----- From: Doug Rudder [mailto:drudder@d...] Agreed. Whether you use a team approach or have an individual with experience in both sides of this issue, incorporating the knowledge of both the subject matter experts and the programmers is important. It is not an either/or proposition. Effective communication and education on both sides is key.
