RE: The BBQ Proposition was Re: Re: URIs, concrete

concrete barbecue
By discovering that even if the URI says it is 'Q, one
still has to sort out the representations to stay kosher,
so the word still isn't the thing. It ain't Q until
you say it is.

So much for hypertext dispensers; I've got to go find
a BarBQ dispenser. All this chat made a monster hunger
for Q.

BTW: If you come to Huntsville, turn left out of the
airport and go to Greenbriars. The old one is better
than the new one, but I won't give you directions to
it. It's reserved for the natives.

(barbecue, as practiced through most of the south, is pork ribs, with a
sauce (of varying hotness and thickness) based on tomatos. In Texas, as far
as I can tell, a rack of pigs' ribs isn't impressive enough, so they go for
cows ... roughly the same sauce. In the coastal carolinas, the term
"barbecue" refers to shredded pork treated with a vinegar-based sauce
(sometimes called "white barbecue") and usually served as a sandwich. Look,
folks can't even agree on what *barbecue* is, how will they ever agree on
other, less pressing issues?)
