As I said in an earlier post, put BAFFLEGAB://www.bs.com 
in there, and the expectation is that it won't dereference. 
It isn't guaranteed because someone might sneak a BS resolver 
in one night, but the expectation is right. 

Put http in for BAFFLEGAB, and the expectation is different.
So deal with reality as expressed in the fielded software 
and do the right thing, or continue to shock the monkeys 
and wait for them to become hostile.

The orthodoxy is at odds with the practice.  Orthodoxy 
loses.
