Wow, talk about taking out of context. You managed to turn an over two thousand word email in support of the IETF's endorsement of W3C XML Schema into an indictment of it. Saying XSD 2.0 will add features not in XSD 1.0 does not translate into XSD is not here to stay in any way, shape or form.

	Of course, XSD 2.0 may be just wishful thinking, or may be a get-out-of-jail-free card,
	but an XSD 1.1 is on the cards. So "here to stay" is probably not quite the right phrase.
	The brand may be here to stay, but the technology may or may not change. It is too
	early for consolidation on a single standard when things are in their infancy.  The
	XML Schemas WG is so busy on their own secret type lattices that we should not expect
	them to be up-to-date with what is happening in the rest of the world, and we should
	remove from them the terrible burdon of having to be useful for every schema niche.
	
	People need the right tools for the job: sometimes that is a sledgehammer, sometimes
	it is a Swiss-army knife.
