As best I recall, the criticism from RDBMS folks has been >that it's too XML-centric. > Where exactly does it state that? I must say that if that is indeed the goal, then it is doomed to failure. RDBMS, OO, and XML are three very different models and I don't think you can usefully combine them. Yes, you can sort of force them to fit with all sorts of nasty hacks; but it's really a case of pounding square pegs into round holes. The results won't be pretty or strong. -- +-----------------------+------------------------+-------------------+ | Elliotte Rusty Harold | elharo@m... | Writer/Programmer | +-----------------------+------------------------+-------------------+ | The XML Bible, 2nd Edition (Hungry Minds, 2001) | | http://www.cafeconleche.org/books/bible2/ | | http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=0764547607/cafeaulaitA/ | +----------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Read Cafe au Lait for Java News: http://www.cafeaulait.org/ | | Read Cafe con Leche for XML News: http://www.cafeconleche.org/ | +----------------------------------+---------------------------------+
