In practice most every parser (except mozilla's) reads the DTD for attribute defaults etc, but usually XSLT engines work with parsers in non valdidating mode don't they? By the way is anyone from mozilla following this thread, mozilla doesn't read dtds to speed up client side processing (which causes some problems in its xslt support), what on earth are they going to make of suggestions that they read schema instead?
