We are trying to build a stand-alone Rapid Application
Development (RAD) application that enables software developers to graphically
build and deploy Services for a particular domain.
It will allow application developers to create, modify,
debug and deply applications.
It will be a complete IDE with editor having full support for
drag-drop our specific set of components, users being able to create new
components, wysiwyg features, source editor, templates which can be customized,
wizards, database integration etc. All these underneath would generate ASP code,
in addition to whatever files are made. Example, it'll allow the user to drag
and drop DB connections and create Apps that talk to DB. Now, the application
configuration files i.e. the engine, UI settings (toolbars, menu bars etc.),
component interfaces, database layer which connects seamlessly to all data
sources etc. will all be xml interfaces.
I am trying to find out if xml resources close to this (for
application configurations and database connectivity) exist in the public
domain. Maybe even with limited set
of functionalities for
now.
Thanks, Rashida
