RE: XML & government in general

xml in government uk
It actually brings up one of the most entertaining (if you
like Stephen King) aspects of web services. If you live
in the UK, how do you feel about the web service API
for a Chinese "citizen" being applied to your bank account?

The web just gets weirder and weirder. There is no
such thing as "government in general", although there
are often "generals in government". It will be interesting
to see if the Middle East sheikdoms like the idea of the OASIS election
schema. "Sheik Yer Booty", as Zappa said.

We are heavily involved in the UK Government work in this area and to some
extent in another European Government. There is a lot of work going on
throughout Europe, the USA and Australia that I know about. I know the Far
East is doing a lot about the Internet in general, and this must include XML
by now. To write this, I have just taken a break from the OASIS election
schema project. This involves several countries around the world.
