ASN.1 is more expressive than XML schema, but for a given ASN.1 abstract
type, it will be possible to create an XML schema for the XML-encoded
values of that type... however, that schema will be less specific than the
ASN.1, it will let through values that the ASN.1 wouldn't.

Converting the other way is easier, and is the subject of ITU-T
standard X.694...
