Such performance considerations can be improved by caching the PSVI
information for the document after the first time it is validated and using
that the verify if updates are good or not and if so updating the PSVI info if
necessary.

Of course this may have issues with updates that perform significant changes
(e.g. changing the xsi:type of an element).
