SV: SV: W3C's five new XQuery/Xpath2 working drafts - Stil	l
Hi Jonathan

Good to hear from you.

I did a bit of research on this, using Google:
http://www.google.com/search?q=xml+sql+update

Likewe also talked a lot about back in the SAG days, Update is
imperative in a lanugage for a DBMS: Database Management System.

And not just update for individual elements, but also support for e.g.
batch updates as we know them from the SQL world:
E.g.: "Update MyResearch set deadline=01.01.2003 where
deadline=01.01.2002"

I think that if XML shall succeed in becoming a usefull _data_ format
and not advanced CSV files, XML (and connected standards) must support a
full suite of standards for Data Definition Language DDL, (XML Schema),
convertion (XSLT Y.?),and Data Manipulation Language, DML.

Best regards
