Hello again, I am importing 3.2MB file (yes, I know, maybe a little bit big to be using with the DOM based import function but it works most of the time) and am getting an OracleXMLSQLException: Inserted value too large for coumn error when I try to import it. It contains 144 row elements which comprise of a hiarachical structure replicated by the import table using nested tables. Funny thing is that when I split the file up into individual XML files containing only one row all the rows are imported beautifully!! Anyone had any similar problems with the get_xml Java import function provided with the Oracle8i XSU or suggest a reason for the problem? I think that this error may have been caused by dodgy characters in files so that the parser gets confused and so misses an end tag puting too much data into a single column but am only guessing? I'm pretty sure that this is not the case as the file validates against it's encoding and the individual rows import separately. I'm confused!! TIA Cheers Ian ___________________________________________________________________________ This email is confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
