Pizza conference is held. It is decided that pizza ingredients and crust types should be part of online information. A consultant specializing in online pizza steps up and says they should name the ingredients and crust types the same. After a few suggestions, they realize some of them have different names. A committee is formed to pick a candidate list. Someone's brother in law has built a web page or two. He says that they should document the choices in XML. The committee says "what the heck is that?" He says, "Don't worry, I'll take care of that and even use my own domain name for the namespaces." They stare back blankly and he says, "Trust me." It's still XML but they might want to know where what's there is. len -----Original Message----- From: Dave Winer [mailto:dave@u...] Sorry for being so obscure -- the point was this.. 1. I own a car. 2. If I open the hood I see a bunch of metal and tubes and wires. 3. I have no idea what most of them are called. So for the pizza shop owner. 1. He owns a computer.. 2. If he dares open the hood (not a good idea) he sees lots of confusing stuff. 3. He has no idea what most of it is called. To XML-Dev'ers.. 1. It's still XML if the user doesn't know it's there.
