[XML-DEV Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] [ANN]: XML-UI/XForms now works in IE
Folks, sorry to interrupt the IE6 debate. Instead of waiting and discussing whether Microsoft eventually does the right thing with IE, here is something that actually works today and solves part of the XML UserInterface/Browser problem. Mozquito has developed a markup language called XML-UI, using the Modularization of XHTML, which is in essence XHTML+XForms, the new W3C XForms in use with XHTML, ie. the next generation of web forms in XML. Last week, the accompanying product: "Mozquito XML WebAccess 2.0" went into public beta. The server software transcodes XML-UI/XForms documents consisting of both the XHTML UI document and any referenced XML data source from markup into JavaScript/DHTML - enabling existing browsers like IE5 to process XML-UI/XForms documents - as if there was native browser support for XForms. I recently gave a basic "Hello World" XML-UI/XForms tutorial on the www-forms@w... mailing list [1]. Some initial XML-UI/XForms examples running e.g. in IE5 can be seen at [2]. We set up a free FTP access to a Trial Server that has XML WebAccess 2.0 installed. How to upload and test-drive your XML-UI/XForms see [3]. For anything else (product details, beta download, etc.), please visit the Mozquito Website [4].
