web services hypes
This Gartner analysis makes sense to me. BEA is profiting considerably from
being viewed as the "safe choice" by managers making purchasing decisions
because of its #1 market position, without considering whether they really
need J2EE.

Interestingly, the new battleground for leadership by J2EE vendors is now
web services. They are each trying to position themselves as the premier
platform for web services, but most of them are simply bundling Apache SOAP
as their solution (which can be had for free).
