  Well, to condensate in one sentence what would require half a decenny
of hard work (and it seems we are not really going that way):

  Associate stylesheets to namespaces and properties to elements
  and render your document by propagation of styling rules and
  constaints between the multiple rules found in stylesheets (preregistered
  or linked).

  For example the styling/formatting system of Thot (toolkit upon which
Amaya is based) was basically doing this at the beginning of the 90's -- but
not in an XML/CSS/XSLT framework. There was a stylesheet for chapters,
one for bibliography, one for graphics and the stylesheets were composed
like the DTD (or equivalents) to generate for example the rendering of a
thesis.

  DOS mimicked Unix which mimicked Multics, reduction is sometimes a progress
sometimes an heresy :-\
