Bad design is a > human problem and is better solved by humans. And after the author has amended their schema to require that these changes be made, there is a technical problem to solve: processing older data which might conform to the previous version of the specification. In these circumstances Simons solution is perfectly valid. And is just what is going to happen with RDF attributes. In RSS 1.0 we made the mistake of not forcing all the RDF attributes to be prefixed. There is not a lot of data in both prefixed and unprefixed forms and applications which can handle one or both cases. Using a filter to migrate in this way is a good option, IMO.
