xml browser compatibility
Even if the code that i'd given doesn't work on Mac, how could I code in
Javascript and XML so that it works on Mac?

Yes, you should expect different behaviour, but even if the version numbers
are the same. This is because IE5 for MacOS has a completely different code
base.
