Nope. Too late. XML Schema has already been absorbed, implemented, and application languages are being created and shared, books are headed for the shelves, the tutorials are being presented, the best practices published, and so on. Like HTML colonization, by the time you figure out the *minimal victory* is pyrhhic, the troops have already gone home with the booty to farm and make babies. Better luck next time with the requirements. It might be a good idea to choose *one* of the rules-based designs and sanction it. That will reduce the surface area. Dayadhvam.h -----Original Message----- From: Tim Bray [mailto:tbray@t...] So I say to you all: go back in your caves and come out with *one* schema facility that lets me write grammars when I want to and xpath expressions when I want to, and has an elegantly unified syntax. Then declare victory. For extra credit, replace entities too (just kidding). -Tim
