Minor tragicomedy of errors

tragicomedy
In case anyone is wondering where my message that
Jonathan just quoted came from (it did not appear on the list)...

Through a small series of muck-ups, a note which I composed, thought
better about and then tried to abort, found its way to Jonathan looking
as far as he could tell as if it had indeed been posted to the list, which
it hadn't.

Understandably, he thought it had appeared on the list, and proceeded to
reply, quoting from the message I had intended no one at all to see.

I apologize to Jonathan for any offense given by the message, and for any
possible embarrassment stemming from the quoted material.
