large scale xml
Hello all,
I am a newbie that is trying to better understand the need (if there is one)
for an XML parser that would be specifically designed for applications where
large data sets are used, such as Bio-informatics and the human genome.

If anyone has comments on the strengths and weaknesses of todays parsers, I
would love to hear them. ALSO, I am thinking about how taxonomy can be
incorporated into DTDs and Schemas to possibly make large scale parsing more
efficient. Is this already being done today? by who?

I am familiar with DOM, SAX and Data Binding...are there any others I should
be aware of?

Any input would be graciously appreciated.

james
