Given that XSLT is a tree transformation tool from XML
to XML, I don't see this as a huge problem.  A scope 
is necessary for the tool to be effective.

That being said, XT provides an output method and 
special tags which can be used to output "raw" text.
This, IMHO, is the appropriate place for such a
thing... XSLT is big enough.
