Introduction to XML
A Dynamic, Web-Based Live Course
from the Data & Analysis Center for Software (DACS)

Where?  That's right! From the convenience of your office or
home, right in front of your desktop computer, you will be
able to hear, interact with, and participate in a one hour
web-based course to
learn many of the fundamentals of XML.  There is no expense
of traveling to attend this course.  You don't even have to
go to a different office or building.

When?  To make it more convenient for you, this course will
be offered on four different dates and times, so you can
pick the most convenient time to attend (all times Eastern):
-- June 5, 2000 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
-- June 13, 2000 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
-- June 21, 2000 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
-- June 29, 2000 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

XML, the eXtensible Markup Language, is revolutionizing the
way that systems are being integrated and how expertise applications
are being built.  This is a technology that will affect you
and the
way you develop and integrate systems.

What will I learn?  If you attend this one-hour web-based
class, by the time it is finished you will:
-- Understand what XML Is
-- Understand what XML Isn't
-- Understand the Difference between XML and HTML
-- Learn how to Develop Well-Formed and Valid XML
-- See Some Real XML
-- Understand the Link between XML and Java

What will I need?
-- A Java-Enabled Browser:
i. Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher
ii. Netscape Navigator 3.04 or higher
-- A Separate Connection with Access to a Telephone

The price for the Web-Based One-Hour XML Course is $125 per person.

About the Instructor:  Tom McGibbon is the Director of the
DACS with over 25 years of software development and
management experience. He is currently leading a DACS effort
to develop the DACS Return on Investment from Software
Process Improvement Database utilizing XML.
