As I said, it was a dumb example. In spirit I agree with your notion
that queries should only flow up the chain. If nothing else, it makes it
a lot harder to get circular queries going. So, I won't argue with you
anymore on that one.

Yes, I mean the parent in the filter chain. I may be dense, but I can't
really see how a ContentHandler can query its parent in the filter chain.
How would that be done?
