Keep in mind that there are many flavors of XML schema's floating around right
now.  Microsoft supports the XDR flavor that they rolled themselves, but this is
not
exactly the same as the one working its way through the standards process
right now.  (http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-1/)  Most of what you will see
discussed/debated on lists like this one is the proposed standard; not home
grown
flavors implemented by Microsoft and others.
