No one has said that the Project Gutenberg DTDs will be 'ultra-simple'
either. The great thing about XML is that you can use any DTD you want. The
TEI DTDs were evaluated, and felt not to suit the project well, so they're
building their own. Perfectly 'legal', and supportable. No need for people
to get their knickers in a twist over it, by a long shot.
