svg practical examples
Thanks very much for this condensed presentation of the rationale.
All readers of this thread, please note the following exchange
on the X3D Contributors list with regards to using attributes
over element content in the X3D design. These contributors
have Megginson's book, are aware of the archived OASIS discussions
on attributes vs elements, etc., but are looking for other practical
examples by which to compare their own designs:

Please note that the XML-DEV archive and list very often serves
as a source for practical design examples to groups not privileged
to share the contents of the closed W3C sources. Support for
XML-DEV is one means by which OASIS contributes to open forums
and open software development among ALL XML developers. Please
consider this in your deliberations about the appropriateness
or topicality of XML-DEV threads.

In oldeSpeak: the whole world is watching. Smile.
