David Megginson wrote, > We're almost finished SAX2/Java. Have we tho'? SAX2 is, like it or not, pretty much a new API compared with SAX1 or the earlier SAX2 beta, for all that the package names are the same. It's still an open question whether the major parser vendors are going to support it or not. XML-DEV doesn't get any say in that, and it might be wise to consult a bit more widely before saying that SAX2 is a done deal. Of course, there might have been things going on in the background that haven't surfaced here, but one very striking fact about the discussions over the last month or so has been a distinct lack of input from, eg. Sun, IBM, Oracle etc. Who's to say that they won't go there own way? Putting SAX under OASIS' umbrella might significantly reduce the liklihood of that happening.
