AWK/Perl/Python spring to mind. You could also do it with Omnimark. (In Omnimark you would use the rule: FIND "&date;" OUTPUT DATE ) I'm a great believer in bolting together the necessary tools in sequence to solve problems, rather than using the one tool for everything.
