Catalog files?

catalog files
Hi,

Can I use catalog files in XML as I would do in SGML to resolve
the DOCTYPE identifier to a named file, rather than having
to embed my filenames in the document?

I did check the archive but apart from a mention of XCatalog
I didn't notice anything relevant. I'm not sure whether XCatalog
is what I want (or am I missing something here?)

Apologies if its an obvious question/answer, and any tips appreciated.

L.
