The XML declaration is uppercase in every example of CDF I've seen. Including all on the MS web site. Therefore their CDF parser is categorically not an XML parser. They really should have made an effort to change this - it's been pointed out to them enough already, and the XML spec is over a year old. That's what I meant by CDF isn't XML, and I stand by that point. Point expat at the CDF examples and you get: not well-formed at line 1, column 5, byte 5 Matt. PS: What really worries me about the above practice (using something in such a widely used browser, based on a non-ratified-standard) is that in the future, all CDF parsers have to now deal with uppercase <?XML?> - that's bad and wrong, and it's going to happen again with XSL. xml-dev: A list for W3C XML Developers.
