This parser reports the torture test as well-formed when operating in non-validating mode; when validating, it issues only warnings, to the effect that the content model of the PLAYER element is non-deterministic, e.g. "After element GS there are multiple choices when the next element is S." It doesn't seem to be bothered by the entities. ============================================================= John E.
