One of the problems that I have is with a canonical form of feature values for XML software like platform. URIs might provide just the solution. A Java 2 XSL processor conforming to the WD-xsl from 16th December 1998 might be specified in terms of http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/ and http://www.w3.org/TR/1998/WD-xsl-19981216 Actually, now that I think of it, we already have namespaces for content.
