XML Data is an ancestor of XSchema, as well as DCD and probably SOX. In my experience, code designed to use the basic parts of one schema language (element and attribute definitions, etc.) can be easily converted to use a different schema language. For example, I was able to quickly convert code that used XML-Data to use XSchema. This obviously becomes more difficult/impossible when the code exploits features of one schema language that don't occur in the other languages. -- Ron Bourret xml-dev: A list for W3C XML Developers.
