I just published release 38 of my freeware Win32 Foundation Classes (WFC) library. The XML classes have had several bugs fixed as well as adding new functionality. You can now control how strict or sloppy the parser is. While doing this work, I came across a situation that I don't believe is covered in the specification. Consider the following snippet: <H1>Text</H1> More Text <H2>Less Text</H2> Is this valid XML? " More Text " is orphaned. In WFC, I force the document to always have an XML declaration as the root node whether or not one appeared in the original data stream. All of these orphaned text segments are children of the root node. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/sam_blackburn/wfc.htm xml-dev: A list for W3C XML Developers. To post, mailto:xml-dev@i...
