I have an entire genealogy website of over 1800 names powered by XML. The original site was designed earlier in the year, and does not make use of namespaces etc. I have written routines to convert GEDCOM to my XML and back again. There is only one drawback, in that I have functionality in my XML that I cannot express in GEDCOM (not that I know of) My XML encompasses geography, so that people in the same geographical area can be linked together. I have used Microsoft's MSXSL processor to create several different styles of pages from my XML. These include profile entries, ancestral trees, descendant trees, location lookups and image gallery. You can find my website at http://www.gingell.com and my XML file at http://www.gingell.com/data/gingell.txt I would very much like feedback on GEDCOM developments, as I have not seen many (if any) genealogy sites using XML Regards Craig Gingell http://www.gingell.com xml-dev: A list for W3C XML Developers.
