In fact, it looked to me like they were saving it in a combination
of XML and HTML in what seemed on the surface like a sensible fashion.
Implication: RTF is dead (YES!)

Horse-[expletive deleted].  I am, and the XML WG achieved consensus on publishing the
WD.  So that's at least 20 people.  Check your facts in future.  Namespaces
do the minimum required to allow other groups to move forward without, 
IMHO, blocking off other avenues of exploration.  -Tim
