Re: Relational Tables and structured document
For your information, ISO JTC1/WG4, the body responsible for SGML, DSSSL and
HyTime, is organizing a by-invitation Workshop on accessing and exchanging
metadata
represented in SGML from databases, knowledge bases and search tools, which
will be held on the day after SGML/XML Europe in Paris. One of the questions
this workshop has to consider is that of standardized methods of exchanging
queries related to SGML and XML documents. Among those attending the
workshop will be the editors of the SQL and SQL/MM standards. Hopefully
OMG/CORBA and W3C experts will also be present. I hope that this workshop
will lead to the development of a standardized mechanism for exchanging
database queries and updates between XML systems.
