This is the first statement in my XML to XML Mapping Sheet.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

After debugging my XML Map, I'm missing encoding="UTF-8". This is the output I'm getting, <?xml version="1.0"?>

Can you tell me why encoding="UTF-8" does not appear after translation?

the "encoing=UTF-8" you are seeing at the top of the stylesheet is the encoding of the stylesheet, not the output encoding. if you do want to enforce the encoding in your output, you need to insert the <xsl:output> element before your template

<xsl:output encoding="UTF-8"/>

hope this helps.
