Eric GilesSubject: Microsoft .NET 1.1 Web Services GUID Problem
Author: Eric Giles
Date: 21 Nov 2004 10:18 PM
Hi,

I am having trouble passing a GUID data type into a Microsoft .NET 1.1 Web Service.

When I pass in a parameter of type String, I am able to use it to generate
a GUID without any issues. The problem I am having is that if I declare an
input parameter of type GUID (System.GUID) I am able to make the call to the
web service using Stylus Studio 6.0 however the parameter is submitted with
no value.

If I change the data type of the parameter to String and then create a new
System.GUID from it, I have no problems either. I do want to continue to
use the GUID if possible.

Has anyone else had the same issue and if so, have you found any solution
to it?

Thanks,

Eric

Ivan PedruzziSubject: Microsoft .NET 1.1 Web Services GUID Problem
Author: Ivan Pedruzzi

Hi Eric

It seems to be a problem in the SOAP request created by Stylus
The guid element is created in the wrong namespace
http://microsoft.com/wsdl/types/

Note that the auto-complete behaves correctly; if you delete the guid element and
then open a tag it does pop the right definition.

Thank You for reporting this.
The problem will be fixed in the next update.
