Hi,

Is it possible to have control over comments in one xml file with XSL?
I want to replace some special symbols in a xml file even they are in comments.

10x and Regards,

Violeta

Hi Violeta,

The following example shows how to handle comments an perform a character replace

------------------------
comment.xml

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<root>
<!-- comment *** commment -->
</root>

------------------------
comment.xsl

<?xml version='1.0'?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">

<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:apply-templates select="root"/>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="comment()">
<xsl:value-of select="translate(., '*', '-')"/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

------------------------
result

comment --- commment

Hope this helps
Ivan
