Rob KingsSubject: Generate XML Schema
Author: Rob Kings

Hi, I'm trying to generate a schema from an XML file. However, I'm having a number of problems: (BTW I'm using the 30 day eval)

1. When I open my XML file I get 3 errors in quick succession

---------------------------
Failed to load "Relational DB" file system:
Java Runtime Environment initialization failed
---------------------------
Failed to load "XML Converters" file system:
Java Runtime Environment initialization failed
---------------------------
Failed to load "XML Converters" file system:
Java Runtime Environment initialization failed
---------------------------

After which it appears to load. However, if I then click on the schema tab I then get a single entry "DTD" and this cannot be expanded. Did I misread the web-site, I thought it would generate the schema.

Hi Rob,
in the latest version the generation of the schema based on the XML is no
more triggered by switching to the schema tab, but by the invocation of the
menu item "XML | Create Schema from XML Content"

As for the messages appearing when opening the Open File Dialog, they are
due to the fact that the Java Virtual Machine could not be created. If you
do have a JRE 1.4.x installed on your machine and you want to use it,
please go to the Tools | Options menu and check the configuration
parameters in the "Java Virtual Machine" entry.

Hope this helps,
Alberto

Alberto

Many thanks for that. I was only going by what it said on the website. (http://www.stylusstudio.com/autogen_xsd.html)
