When I run the profiler I am not getting consistant figures as response
time for multiple runs. Is there is any way I can make it consistant.

As much as possible I am testing the XSLT with the same environment like
the number of applications opened....

If you can try your XSLT against a larger XML file, that would be the
simplest course. It could be that the time spent actually executing
the XSLT is insignificant compared to just setting up the environment.

Another course would be to change your main template to have a name=
attribute, and create a new main template that just calls it 100 times.
That should even out any bumps in the timings, and give you a good
relative set of timings.

We will add to our 'to-do' list the ability to automatically run a
transform X number of times and average the results.

Question:
Does the profiler support XSLTC processor?
Also, is the "built-in processor" a proprietary processor?

Carlton,

XSLT profiling is supported for the following processors
built-in
XalanJ
Saxon 6.5.x
Saxon 8.x
System.Xml.Xsl.Transform (.NET)

The XSLT built-in processor has been devoloped by the Stylus Studio Team and the XQuery built-in processor as well.
